OPERRA project

The EC funded Open Project for the European Radiation Research Area (OPERRA) aims to build up an umbrella coordination structure that has the capacity to administer future calls for research in radiation protection as a whole on behalf of the European Commission. One specific objective of the OPERRA EU project is to encourage an active dialogue with all those at national and international level with significant interest in radiation protection.

To this purpose, stakeholders’ opinions on research priorities in radiation protection will be collected through an e-Survey covering seven topics: low dose risk, radioecology, emergency and recovery preparedness , dosimetry, ethics, risk communication and perception, education and training, with a view to ensuring the research prioritized by key platforms: MELODI (Multidisciplinary European Low Dose Initiative), ALLIANCE (European Radioecology Alliance), NERIS (European Platform on preparedness for nuclear and radiological emergency response and recovery) and EURADOS (European Radiation Dosimetry Group). The e-Survey focus areas (research priority list of the Platforms) are preceded by a section coordinated between platforms concerning Synergistic Priorities relevant to two or more of MELODI, ALLIANCE, NERIS and EURADOS.
